Principal's Message—August 15, 2025

Dear Wexford Elementary Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to our school community! We hope you've had an enjoyable summer. As we prepare to embark on a new school year, I want to share some exciting news about our school-wide theme for the year.

The Wild Robot on the Island Book Cover

We are thrilled to announce that this year, our school will be diving into the enchanting world of Peter Brown's The Wild Robot series! We will begin by reading the beautiful picture book, The Wild Robot on the Island, with all our students. The story of Roz, the robot who learns to adapt to a new environment and builds meaningful relationships with the animals around her, is a powerful inspiration for us all.

Before our students arrive, our dedicated faculty and staff are engaging in their own "island" adventures, using the themes of the book to strengthen our relationships and foster a truly supportive and collaborative community. Just as Roz learns from every creature on the island, our teachers are learning from and supporting one another, sharing their unique skills and perspectives to build a strong foundation for the year.

Our amazing team of Kindergarten, First, Second, and Third-Grade teachers, our Special Area teachers (Art, Music, Library, Computers, and PE), and our Support teachers (Special Education, Gifted Education, and Reading Support) are all working together to ensure a fantastic and successful year for every child. Their commitment to one another and to your children is what makes Wexford Elementary so special.

We can't wait for the students to become part of our own "island community" this year, where they will learn the importance of collaboration, empathy, and resilience.

Thank you for being a part of the Wexford Elementary family. We look forward to a year of growth, discovery, and building strong connections.
