Mrs. Kelly Gustafson joined Wexford Elementary School as its new principal for the 2018-2019 school year.  She previously worked as the coordinator of elementary education at Greensburg Salem School District for four years. Prior, she served for 11 years as principal of Bower Hill Elementary School in Peters Township School District and has worked as a principal in the Bentworth and Kane Area school districts. At Bower Hill, the school was named a  National School of Character because of her strong involvement in the development of character education connections throughout the building’s curriculum and culture. Before serving in administrative roles, Mrs. Gustafson worked as a special education teacher in South Middleton School District in Boiling Springs, Pennsylvania, and West Allegheny Middle School.

Mrs. Gustafson has organized many professional development opportunities for staff and has served on several curriculum development and strategic planning committees. She has served as an advocate for literacy and Pennsylvania school libraries for the past three years.

After earning a bachelor of science degree in education of the exceptional from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Mrs. Gustafson earned a master's of education in educational leadership from the University of Pittsburgh. She earned her principal certification from Duquesne University, where she is working on a doctorate in the professional leadership and development program.
